Hello! I just wanted to let you know that I am running the installation with these selections to try duplicate the problem.

Just to throw a stick in the spokes.. I completed the installation using the same selections and everything seems to be working fine. I did not receive those errors. Maybe the network did not resolve a rocky repo during setup? I can confirm the packages in /var/log/anaconda/journal.log after setup. Did you change anything else that might have caused it to fail?

Hi,
thanks Bryan for your time!
I'm trying to install RazDC on a VM on PROXMOX 8.1. Network is connected using a bridge to a network with Internet access. network is setup in manual, with a valid DNS IP (All other VM in this network can access Internet with this setup).
Is there a way to test network connection before starting installation?

Fred

EDIT: I have tested internet access from anaconda root@localhost and it works OK!
I have also tested install without any option... same problem :-((

Very strange. I am glad you are able to confirm internet access. I assume this is a problem related to Proxmox hypervisor. I will setup an 8.1 test box and perform an install. Please give me some time to get things setup.

Another point: I have no DHCP server on this network. If I use the automated ISO, it doesn't work. I have to use NOAUTO ISO. When the network configuration is done, if I go to "Installation sources" and confirm "local media", when i clic "done", there is a windows with "Problem in request: missing packages: rsyslog, ..."

Interesting. Can you avoid changing the installation sources? This is a minimal ISO so all resources are from an online repo. I suspect maybe selecting local it wants the full DVD.

Hi Bryan,
I have some news! I test the same configuration at home yesterday (VM install on PROXMOX 8) but the network was différent: I have DHCP server on this network and the automated install worked OK!
I think, at work, the automated install doesn't work because the VM doesn't have IP address. It's the same with NoAuto install: the repositories are checked before a manual IP address is entered.

Is it possible for you to make an ISO for an unconnected (with no Internet access and no DHCP server) install?

That is interesting. I will test this but I do not believe the packages are checked until after completion of the setup page otherwise this would be a wider known issues with the Rocky distro.

Very strange. I setup Proxmox 8.1 and performed the install and I get the exact error. This could be a combination or manual package selections interfering with the approved packages in the security profile. I will have to perform additional tests to see if this is the correct cause.

Ran the NoAuto ISO install on ProxMox 8.1 with a static configured. I did not select additional packages or a security profile. This install completed without error. I will run another test with security profile selected but without packages and report back again.
