Proxmox installation is not difficult if you remember to change a few things:
User Linux 2.6 Kernel Use paravirtual SCSI controller for hard drive Use Paravirtual network adapter (vmxnet3) No UEFI No TPM Default BIOS (SeaBIOS) Disable ProxMox Firewall
Create a new VM.
Configure Linux 2.6 kernel for the system type.
Default graphics, SeaBIOS, no TMP are recommended as UEFI is not supported by the ISO.
Configure SCSI Controller with VMWare Paravirtual PVSCSI controller.
Configure CPU as needed for your environment.
Configure memory as needed for your environment.
Use VMWare vmxnet3 network adapter. Make sure adapter is bridged. Disable the Proxmox firewall to prevent further complications, If you prefer to use the proxmox firewall, you will have to enable all the necessary ports for AD, HTTPS, DHCP, NTP, and DNS.
These options provide native support for the virtual hardware. No additional configuration is needed Continue with standard setup procedure.
